Studying abroad without leaving home may seem unreal but in fact, thanks to the Virtual Exchange Credit Program (VECP), it is possible.
The VECP initiative was launched in July 2020 in response to the global pandemic. The goal was to create new opportunities for students to continue their academic journey despite the mobility challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic, and it is one of the longest-running collaborative projects under the Unite! alliance.
The program allows students to choose online courses offered by partner universities, earn credits* and enrich their programs of study, making higher education more flexible and accessible. Recognition of selected course and assigned credits is at the dean's discretion. Students should make sure, before enrolling for the course, whether it will be added to their supplement.
Currently the Unite! consortium offers energy VECP courses as well as multicultural and multilingual courses.
Program goals:
● increase virtual mobility,
● to ensure broad integration of students regardless of their material and social situation,
● support students in obtaining an international study path,
● expand access to the expertise of partner universities through online courses.
Benefit from VECP courses and broaden your academic and international experience. You can find available courses in the Unite Student Catalog! (https://www.unite-university.eu/students/unitestudentcatalogue) or at: https://joint-edu-offerings.unite-university.eu/vecp-energy-course-offering
If you know a course that is worth adding to the Unite! VECP, you can submit it. To do so, contact Vilma Jokinen (vilma.1.jokinen@aalto.fi) or Marisa Könitz (unite-vecp@zv.tu-darmstadt.de).
* Credits recognition is sa ubject to the decision of a dean of a respective faculty.
