ADMISSION RULES FOR INCOMING STUDENTS WITHIN ERASMUS+ KA107 PROGRAMME
WROCŁAW UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY (WUST)
(programme duration up till 31.07.2020)

A. GENERAL RULES
1. Mobility period shall last no longer than 5 months. The winter semester at WUST starts in the beginning of October 2018 and ends mid-February 2019. The summer semester starts mid-February 2019 and ends in the end of June / beginning of July 2019. There is no courses during the summer holiday time.

2. Each student is entitled to mobility capital of not more than 12 months in total on each level of studies. The mobility capital is the total period spent abroad within the Erasmus+ programme as well as Erasmus Mundus programme. 

3. Application procedure is open for all Partner Universities’ students who fulfill the following general criteria.

  • During the mobility undergraduate students must have successfully completed at least one year of studies in their Home Institution;
  • During the mobility master students must have finished their undergraduate studies;
  • During the mobility the participants shall not be on any kind of leave from their studies, they must be registered students at their Home University during the whole period spent at Wrocław University of Science and Technology;
  • During the recruitment process and at the time of departure, students should not be undergoing disciplinary punishment proceedings nor be imposed with such punishments;
  • Candidate can possess citizenship of any country, the affiliation to the home university shall decide about the possibility of taking part in KA107.

B. APPLICATION PROCEDURE
4. The candidates are preselected by the Home University, which takes into account the following criteria:  

  • Academic Merit 50% – The applicant has a good academic record, has research experience in his field etc.
  • Motivation and Recommendation letter 30% - The applicant shows a strong motivation for the proposed mobility and presents a recommendation from the partner university.
  • English or Polish Language Skills 10% - candidate must have documents confirming his knowledge of English language on level B2 – upper intermediate (for information on Common European Framework of Reference for Languages please visit https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Common_European_Framework_of_Reference_for_Languages)
  • Learning Agreement 10% – The applicant presents a proposal of study programme to be realized at Wrocław University of Science and Technology. The offer in English at WUST is available here http://dwm.pwr.edu.pl/en/international-students/exchange-erasmus/incoming/erasmus-plus/courses-in-english

5. The Partner University is obliged to send the following application documents of the preselected candidates till 1st November (summer term) and till 1st of May (winter semester) to erasmus@pwr.edu.pl  via e-mail: 

6. All the documents are to be submitted in English and sent via e-mail. 

7. Once the recruitment process finishes at the Partner University, the Partner University is obliged to send a detailed recruitment report to WUST, specifying the number of applicants, and the ranking list of the candidates.

8. The final validation and acceptance of the applicant is made by the Faculty Coordinator of Wrocław University of Science and Technology based on the submitted documents.

9. Only complete applications will be evaluated. 

10. Decision will be send directly to the candidate via e-mail no later than 31 January 2019. The Partner University will also be notified about the result via e-mail.

C. APPEALS
11. All applicants who do not agree with the selection results have the possibility to make an appeal. The appeal should be submitted via e-mail to the Project Coordinator at WUST Ms Julia Bohdziewicz within a week from the announcement of results – with detailed allegations to the selection process. Project Coordinator will make a decision and inform applicant not later than 7 days after receiving the appeal. 

D. VISA
12. The Host institution will help the participant, within its abilities, in the process of visa application. If it is required Host University will sent original acceptance letter for students via post to their Home University. 

13.  Final decision regarding granting a visa belongs to the Consul. Costs of visa application are covered by the participants. 

E. INSURANCE 
14. The Home University is obligated to provide insurance for outgoing students for the duration of studies abroad.

15. Insurance should provide medical expenses at least at 2.350 EURO and cover sudden accidents and third party liability insurance. WUST is not responsible for random events. 

16. After arrival all student can apply for National Health Fund at the website. More information is available after arrival to WUST. 

F. GRANTS
17. The Erasmus+ scholarship will be paid by WUST. Upon arrival to Wrocław, students are required to open a bank account in EUR in one of the Polish banks and sign the financial agreement with WUST.
Students will receive scholarship in two installments: first will be paid up to 30 days after signing the agreement, the second one will be made within 15 days after the participant has completed a personal report (EU survey). First installment amounts to 70% of the whole scholarship granted for the whole duration of stay, and second installment amounts to  30% of scholarship. 

Students will also receive a lump sum for travel expenses after their arrival, paid also in two installments, together with living allowance.

Please bear in mind that in case of shorter stay the scholarship will be reduced. Scholarship is calculated with an accuracy of one day.
