The Buddy Programme is a unique initiative organized by ESN Wrocław Tech at the beginning of each semester, aimed at international students starting their studies at Wrocław University of Science and Technology. Its main goal is to provide support and a sense of security in a new environment, which can be challenging for many - culturally, linguistically, and organizationally.
Within the Programme, every newly arrived student has the opportunity to find their own Mentor, a student of Wrocław University of Science and Technology who acts as a guide and companion during the first days and weeks of their stay in Wrocław. Mentors help with issues related to accommodation, navigating the university, completing academic formalities, and offer valuable tips on everyday life in the city. Thanks to this support, international students can adapt more quickly, avoid unnecessary stress, and feel part of the local community.
Moreover, the relationship built between the Mentor and the student often extends far beyond the university grounds. Joint meetings, participation in cultural events, or simply spending time together help strengthen bonds and facilitate intercultural exchange. Quite often, these connections turn into lasting friendships that continue long after the academic exchange has ended, becoming one of the most important aspects of the international study experience.
The Buddy Programme is not only practical assistance, but also an opportunity to build relationships, broaden horizons, and create bridges between cultures. Thanks to this initiative, the academic community of Wrocław University of Science and Technology has become even more open, diverse, and welcoming.
