On June 12–13, 2025, Wrocław University of Science and Technology hosted a meeting of partners from the international project "Bridging Curricula: Mapping Compatibility for International Academic Collaboration" (MACInAC), conducted within the framework of the T.I.M.E. alliance (Top International Managers for Engineering)
The event took place at the Center for National and International Relations of Wrocław Tech and was hosted by Ewa Mroczek, the T.I.M.E. program coordinator at the university.

The meeting was attended by:

DsC,PhD, Eng. Elżbieta Zienkiewicz, university professor – Director of the Center for Teaching Excellence at Wrocław Tech

PhD, Eng. Marcin Markowski and Dr. Eng. Wojciech Kmiecik – Coordinators of the Advanced Computer Science program at the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology, Wrocław Tech

PhD. Eng. Andreas Haun – Coordinator of Double Degree Programs at Technische Universität Darmstadt (Germany)

Prof. Joan M. Gené – Deputy Director for International Cooperation at UPC BarcelonaTech – ETSETB (Spain)

Gwenaëlle Guillerme – Secretary General of the T.I.M.E. alliance

The goal of the meeting was to compare study programs in the fields of computer science and telecommunications and to assess their compatibility for the development of double degree programs. Discussions included differences between educational systems, the number of ECTS credits awarded for master’s theses, structures of mandatory and elective courses, student mobility models, and methods of recognizing learning outcomes. The group also explored the idea of creating a standard agreement template for alliance partners and designing second-cycle programs that would be attractive to students.

Challenges identified included the limited availability of specializations for international students and the need to increase the number of courses offered in English. Concrete steps were proposed, such as creating working groups, developing flexible learning pathways, and preparing support tools for program coordinators and academic staff.

Participants also met with the Dean of the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology, Prof. DSc,PhD, Eng. Andrzej Kucharski. The meeting confirmed the partners’ commitment to developing international study programs, particularly in areas such as artificial intelligence, quantum computing, and data science. The need to better promote double degree programs among students and provide clear information about their benefits, structure, and requirements was strongly emphasized.

The project is supported by the T.I.M.E. alliance, which brings together leading technical universities from around the world with the aim of developing joint educational programs, academic exchange opportunities, and cooperation with industry. Members of the T.I.M.E. alliance are institutions recognized for their strong position in research, education, and industry collaboration, all of which are highly engaged in international cooperation.

Wrocław University of Science and Technology and AGH University of Krakow are currently the only Polish universities in the network. This year, Warsaw University of Technology also applied for membership. The alliance currently includes 57 universities from 25 countries, including EU member states as well as Argentina, Australia, Brazil, China, Japan, Canada, Morocco, and Ukraine.
