Buddy Programme in the Winter Semester - recruitment is open!

International students coming to Wrocław Tech who need a Buddy (Erasum, Exchange and full-time):

Hi there!

ESN’s team from Wroclaw University of Science and Technology is looking forward to welcoming you to Poland!

Erasmus Student Network is the biggest student organisation in Europe. ESN is created by thousands of the most open-minded, ambitious, and helpful volunteers, who are offering their services to around two hundred thousand international students every year with the motto “Students Helping Students”. In ESN we organise many activities from the best parties , and sports events to events that promote the culture of a particular area and raise awareness about sensitive topics. In a word, our goal is to make your Erasmus the best experience of your life!

For now, we are going to start the Buddy Programme. If you participate in it, you will be bound with one local Polish student who will be your first contact person before and after arrival. If you wish, your Buddy will pick you up from a particular place, help you with accommodation, or tell you about Polish culture and customs. They will answer your questions regarding your stay in Poland, show you the city, and most importantly - become your first friend during your exchange

Or maybe you would like to meet new friends with whom you can discuss the differences between countries and their customs? Do you want to re-discover Wrocław and help your new foreign friend at the same time? Well, if you said yes at least once, good news! Apply to the Buddy Programme and make your dreams come true!

WHO IS A BUDDY?

A buddy is a person who helps and takes care of the incoming exchange student. The main goal is to help your Buddy in the very first moments in a completely new city and make these first days an amazing and unforgettable experience instead of a painful memory. Buddy will be responsible for picking the exchange student up from the airport or railway station, helping the student with moving into the dormitory, and answering any questions regarding their stay in Poland.

WHY IS IT WORTH TO BECOME A BUDDY?

Becoming a Mentor for an exchange student and fulfilling the responsibilities attached to this role will grant you additional points in the recruitment process if you choose to apply for an Erasmus+ exchange yourself. Moreover, participating in the Buddy Programme is an amazing opportunity to make new, international friends that often results in amazing trips across the world. It is also a chance to learn about new cultures and customs and, of course, to level up your language skills!
